Advanced Floating
Tips + Support

Be Sure To Always Have Your Next Float Booked

Like any habit, it can be challenging to stay committed if you’re not proactive initially. Your schedule can change, life gets busy or overwhelming, and that’s when we need floating the most to help us stay calm, energized, and focused. We recommend that you always book your next float before you leave the center to ensure that you maintain your float practice and continue to experience the compounding benefits over the long term.

Ask our staff to set you up on recurring appointments!

Stretching with Floats

Stretching before, after, and even during your float session. Tune into your body more and release any lingering pain or tension. Just be careful that this may make the water too cool for you if you do it for too long or right at the start of your float.

Find Your Timing

Test out different times for your floats (early morning, midday, and late night). Floating during the morning can keep you calm and energized throughout the day (remember to avoid any caffeine before your float), while an afternoon or night session can help you ease into a sound sleep.

Journaling

Journal before a float to prompt yourself if you have specific things you want to think through or problem solve during your session and you can also journal afterward to capture any new ideas or insights.

Switching Positions

Find your favorite position or change it up as you need. You can have your arms above the top of your head, up and to the sides of your head, or down beside your body while floating. It’s helpful to try each to find what works best for you, or find a flow throughout your sessions with them all. Beginning your float with your arms up is a great way to stretch out your shoulders and other parts of your body , and then around halfway through, bring your arms back down to let them go fully (just be careful to not bring them above your head to avoid dripping salt water in your eyes or on your face).

Need A Break Before Your Next Float?

Here’s a great Spotify playlist called “Peaceful Meditation” that will help you tune out the rest of the world and reconnect with your inner calm that you’re building and strengthening with your new float practice.

"Also a wonderful experience I come here. Absolutely love their services. You definitely need to go at least three times to adjust and get comfortable with floating. But I would recommend for distressing, alleviating chronic pain (I have a spinal injury, that gives me chronic pain), and it had helped some with my anxiety."

Membership FAQ

What happens if I can't use my float credit one month? Do I lose them?

All floats accrued through your membership roll over and don’t expire as long as you keep your membership active. Don’t worry about missing a month or two if your schedule changes drastically or you go away on vacation, you’ll have floats to come back to that can help with the jet lag!

How often should I float to get the benefits?

Single and first floats can often be profound. However, there can be a bit of a learning curve requiring a few floats to feel totally comfortable. Also, floating has powerful cumulative effects and is becoming recognized as an essential part of an optimal ongoing wellness practice. Floating consistently will supercharge your long term physical, mental, and spiritual health. Most people usually float between 2 – 4 times per month, if not more to get the compounding benefits!

How do I cancel my membership?

There’s no commitment to the membership so you can cancel anytime. If you aren’t able to come in and float with us at any point, don’t worry — your float credits never expire as long as you keep your membership active!

We are here to support you to get back on track with your float practice so that you can continue to get all the benefits and feel tahe post-float glow once again.

It could be a great opportunity to try floating more frequently to catch up!

Memberships automatically renew. Membership cancellations require a 30 day notice prior to your monthly billing date via email to relax@thefloatloft.com. Any credits accrued before or after membership cancellation remain valid for 3 years from issue date
